The Search and Rescue Team of the heavy class of the Mobile Rescue Center for Rapid Response of the SES of Ukraine has successfully passed the certification in the INSARAG system

On September 7, the result of the 36-hour training of Ukrainian rescuers within the framework of re-certification of the Search and Rescue Team of the heavy class of the Mobile Rescue Center for Rapid Response of the SES of Ukraine in the UN International Advisory Group - INSARAG, was announced.

For the second time, the SAR RR team has shown that in case of disasters, associated with the numerous destruction of buildings, in particular as a result of earthquakes, the whole world can count on the assistance of the SES rescue team.

Since 2014, Ukraine already has accreditation of the INSARAG international assistance system, but skill must be certified every 5 years.

During the solemn ceremony of awarding the Certificate of Successful Re-certification, the Head of the Commission, Anika Koll Erickson, emphasized that the observers highly appreciated the preparedness and professionalism of the Ukrainian team.
" We had the opportunity not only to evaluate your work, but also to learn from your experience and best practices," Ms Anika said.Terje Skavdal, the representative of the INSARAG Secretariat, noted that he had attended the preliminary certification of Ukrainian rescuers in 2014 and noted the positive dynamics in the team.
The Head of the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs in Ukraine, Alicia Sequoia, reminded the importance of the INSARAG international assistance system for the world and congratulated the team on the successful completion of the exam.
"Your team is one of the 53 in the world to be involved in such rescue operations," she said.Mentor of the team - representative of the Republic of Poland, Marsin Kedra, also noted the professional growth of Ukrainian representatives and noted that his Polish colleagues also have a lot to learn from the SES rescuers.
In his turn, the Head of the SES of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin thanked the international experts for a real assessment of the preparedness of the team, as well as SARC RR rescuers for their hard work and high level of teamwork.
"We do not stop at what we have achieved and will continue to work on strengthening international cooperation and increasing the level of preparedness of personnel to participate in international rescue operations," he said.
The ceremony ended with the traditional handover of the INSARAG flag to the team.
