Improving the efficiency of search and rescue operations: the delegation of the State Emergency Service took part in the INSARAG event in Romania
A large-scale meeting of the Africa-Europe-Middle East (AEME) Regional Group was held in Bucharest, bringing together delegates from 49 INSARAG member countries. The event is organized under the chairmanship of Romania in the group that gathered representatives of the European Commission and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA).

Ukraine was represented at the meeting by the delegation of the Rapid Response Mobile Rescue Center of the State Emergency Service, headed by the head of the Center, Yuriy Tsykenyuk. During the event, a technical session was held at the level of experts, where the participants discussed the key issues of search and rescue operations in cities, and also shared the acquired experience.

The main goal of the meeting was to agree on the strategic direction of INSARAG's activity and policy aimed at increasing the effectiveness of international cooperation in the field of search and rescue. The meeting became an important platform for the exchange of information and best practices among member countries.

According to international procedures, search and rescue teams need to be reassessed every 5 years. The Ukrainian team of rescuers is already ready for this important event — re-certification according to international standards, which will take place in the near future.
