The team of MRC of the SES of Ukraine has trained to conduct USAR operations using the methodology and coordination mechanisms of the INSARAG System
On June 25-26, in the framework of preparation for the international recertification in the UN INSARAG System a SAR team of heavy-class Mobile Rescue Center of the SES of Ukraine has completed a set of actions during the special exercises.
In particular, the participants worked out the mechanism of decision-making at the state level on engaging of the SAR team of heavy-class MRC of the SES of Ukraine in emergency response at the international level, the procedure for mobilization (demobilization), organization and conduct of SAR operations in emergency site abroad using the methodology and coordination mechanisms of the INSARAG System.
So, according to the exercise scenario, the report about 7.5 magnitude earthquake in the northern part of the affected country is appearing in VOSOCC and the GDACS (Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System). In response to this request Ukraine involves the SAR team of heavy-class MRC of the SESU to eliminate the earthquake consequences.
At the training facilities located at the Mobile Rescue Center Ukrainian rescuers conducted the works on search and rescue of victims, securing the structures of destroyed buildings, dismantled debris, etc.
Upon completion of the exercises, the actions of participants were analyzed, and the plan for eliminating of identified shortcomings will be prepared.
