From June 24 to 28, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine hosted a delegation from the Danish Emergency Management Agency (DEMA), which also included representatives of the rescue services of Finland and Sweden. The visit was an important milestone in strengthening international cooperation in the context of the war.

The purpose of the trip was to familiarize themselves with the realities in which Ukrainian rescuers have been working since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the russian federation. After an official meeting with the Head of the State Emergency Service, Andriy Danik, the foreign experts visited the State Emergency Service units in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Odesa oblasts, as well as educational institutions in Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, and Lviv.

“It is important for us that the world sees and understands the conditions in which Ukrainian rescuers work. Each such meeting is not only about exchanging experience, but also about mutual support that saves lives. We are grateful to our international partners for their interest and solidarity,” said Andriy Danik, Head of the Service.

Firefighting UAVs, robotics, underwater drones, engineering and special equipment operating under fire, dog handlers, and pyrotechnic units—guests saw innovations that have become key tools in saving lives. Ukrainian rescuers shared personal stories in which every second determined someone's fate, and every call could be their last.

The delegation paid particular attention to the modern training facilities: simulators, laboratories, simulation complexes, and mobile safety classrooms.

Acting Director General of DEMA, Christine Engel Christensen expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to see firsthand and learn from the experience and skills of Ukrainian rescuers in adapting to extremely difficult conditions.

"We were impressed by the ability of Ukrainians to find solutions to complex and multifaceted problems. You use all available human, technical, and information resources to ensure the effectiveness of your operations. This has been a great motivation for us. First of all, we are here to show our support for the activities of the State Emergency Service and the entire Ukrainian people. Secondly, we are here to learn from you and adopt your experience. What you have shown us over the past few days has truly made a deep impression on us. We are taking away many new ideas and inspiration on how to work under extreme pressure and during Russia's aggression. Today, Ukraine and your Service are a priority area of our international activities. We sincerely thank you for your work here in Ukraine and for your contribution to the security of the entire free world," emphasized Christine Engel Christensen.

The visit ended with strategic agreements on future cooperation — exchange of experience and participation in joint international projects. We thank our partners for their interest in the unique and difficult Ukrainian experience, as well as for their constant support in the difficult realities of war.
