Rescuers work until the end, both in Turkey and in Ukraine! There is always hope to find people alive, that's why we work constantly, - Oleksandr Khorunzhyi
The press-officer of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, who is currently participating in SAR operation in Türkiye, announced this in All-Ukrainian telethon.
Oleksandr Khorunzhyi emphasized that the main mission of Ukrainian rescuers is to search and rescue people.
“Our primary task is search and rescue works. Find people alive! After that, the coordination center will determine further tasks. We have been assigned a sector where we search for people and provide assistance. We haven't found anyone yet, but we're working on it. The works will last 24/7," - he said.
The first group of rescuers has already arrived in the city of Antakya, where they deployed a tent camp and organized the works in designated sector. The SESU rescuers work in 6 hours shift. We have all necessary equipment for working with structures, rubble, rescue and release of people.
"As for the tremors in Türkiye - they exist and we feel it. Today, we felt it several times, so it was necessary to evacuate our personnel from the debris, but this does not stop us. We continue to work," said the press-officer of the SESU.
Reference: In total, 87 rescuers and 18 vehicles have been engaged in the SAR operation in Türkiye.
